The man who spent years calling Bitcoin a Ponzi scheme just joined the tokenization boom with something called the "Technodollar." That is not a typo. Nouriel Roubini, crypto's loudest critic, now has a product on a blockchain. When the last bear capitulates, Howard Marks would call that a sentiment signal worth noting.
Meanwhile the tape last night was rough. The Nasdaq dropped 4.1% and the S&P fell 2.5%, the dollar firmed to 101.46, gold sold off 3.3%, and the 10-year Treasury yield rose to 4.49%. Everything risk-off, including gold, which usually catches a safe-haven bid. When gold sells alongside equities, that is not a rotation, that is forced deleveraging, people selling what they can, not what they want. Dalio's framework says watch for that pattern: it means funding stress, not just fear.
Bitcoin sat at $62,752, essentially flat. Fear and Greed at 17 (Extreme Fear). BTC dominance at 55.9%, meaning capital is staying in the biggest name, not spreading to alts. Solana down slightly at $69.60. Ethereum at $1,667. The broader market just had its worst day in over a year and Bitcoin barely moved. That is not nothing. The desk's read stays the same: this is a liquidity story, not a crypto story, and $60,000 is the line that matters.
On the Radar
- Chainlink plus 47 banks: a deal connecting South Korean and European banks to speed up international transfers, so institutional plumbing is being built on crypto rails whether the price is pretty or not.
- Crypto PAC wins: Adrian Boafo won his Maryland Democratic primary with $5.5 million in PAC backing, more crypto allies advancing in Congress, the regulatory picture is quietly improving under the noise.
- Quantum and Bitcoin: Trump pushing government resources into quantum security, experts say Bitcoin is not ready, this is not an immediate threat but it is a long-term technical tail risk to track.
- Roubini's Technodollar: the structural signal here is tokenization momentum, BNY seeing FOMO from asset managers, Meta building prediction markets, the infrastructure narrative is accelerating regardless of price.
The Desk View
$62,752 is holding above the $60,000 floor that matters. When that floor holds while the rest of the market sells hard, that is the contrarian accumulation signal, because forced deleveraging tends to exhaust itself and the last sellers run out before the narrative turns. Wrong if Bitcoin breaks $60,000 on volume, at that point the thesis gets stress-tested seriously.
Read the data, not the hype.
